G&R is now part of American United
Effective October 1, 2026, your G&R membership, savings, and loans continue with American United.
You do not need to apply for membership again.
Welcome to American United
Here to help make your transition as easy as possible.
1. Know your member number
Depending on your former G&R member number, your number may change.
If your former G&R member number is 1 to 9,999:
Add 610,000 to your former number. Your American United member number will have six digits.
- 7 becomes 610007
- 125 becomes 610125
- 1234 becomes 611234
If your former G&R member number is 620000 to 629999:
Your number stays the same. For example, 620123 remains 620123.
If your number does not match either group, or you are unsure, just give us a call.
2. Know where to get help
You can reach American United’s contact center at 877-992-8663. Tell us you were a G&R member so we can help with your account, member number or available services.
The former G&R branch is open at the same location and regular hours, with Bill continuing as the branch manager.
3. Explore additional services
You now have access to additional American United products and services, including checking accounts and online banking. If you are interested, give us a call and we can help you explore your options.
Looking ahead: American United and First Californian will introduce one shared public name on November 16. That name change is separate from the October 1 merger.

Frequently Asked Questions
When did the merger happen?
The merger became effective on October 1, 2026.
Is the former G&R branch location still open?
Yes, Bill Christopherson will remain as the Branch Manager.
When was the special G&R dividend paid, and how was it calculated?
The special G&R dividend was deposited into qualifying accounts on October 6, 2026. No action is needed to receive it.
Each qualifying share account received 4% of its average balance from April 1 through September 30, 2026. To qualify, the account had to be open and in good standing on September 30, 2026, with an average balance of at least $25 during that six-month period.
You can review the deposit in online banking or the American United mobile app. If you have more than one qualifying account, you may see a separate dividend in each. For questions or help getting online access, call 877-992-8663.
Did every G&R member receive a new member number?
No. Former G&R member numbers from 1 through 9,999 change by adding 610,000. Member numbers from 620000 through 629999 remain the same.
What if you don't know your member number?
We can look up your member number using your name, or social security number. Give us a call at 877-992-8663.
Did my routing number change?
Yes. As part of the merger, all former G&R members will use American United’s routing number: 324078640, even if their member number stays the same.
Do I need to update my direct deposits or payments?
Existing Granite Construction payroll deposits: No update needed. If you currently receive Granite Construction payroll deposits into your former G&R account, you do not need to change those payroll deposit instructions because of the merger.
Other direct deposits and automatic electronic payments: If these use your former G&R banking information, provide your employer, biller or other financial institution with American United’s routing number, 324078640, and the correct account number for the account involved.
Your member number alone may not be the complete account number needed for a payment or deposit. If you’re unsure which account number to use, call 877-992-8663 before making changes.
Can former G&R members use all American United branches?
Yes. Former G&R members are now American United members with access to their account at any American United branch.
Did loan payment amounts, due dates, rates or terms change?
No, members accounts converted over exactly as they were with G&R.
Will I pay a fee for paper statements?
We’re waiving our $2 monthly paper statement fee for former G&R members for the first year following the merger. You can continue receiving paper statements without that fee during this period.
Enroll in eStatements through online banking or the American United mobile app before October 15, 2027, to avoid the $2 paper statement fee after your first-year waiver ends.
Members age 65 and older are exempt from the paper statement fee. You can continue receiving paper statements without this fee after the first-year merger waiver ends. Enrolling in eStatements is optional.
Need help setting up online banking or enrolling in eStatements? Call us at 877-992-8663 or visit our online banking page.
Can I give my spouse/parent/friend access to conduct business on my account?
Yes, give us a call to review your options. You can consider adding the person as a joint owner or authorized user.
What if I already have an account at American United Federal Credit Union?
Your G&R account was still merged and you now have two different member accounts with American United. Contact us to determine if you want to keep them separate or combine them into one.
Can I open checking or enroll in online banking?
Yes. Please call American United at 877-992-8663 to explore what new products and services are available.
How can I make transfers through online banking?
You can use American United’s online banking or mobile app to make eligible transfers between accounts you own.
Already requested the transfer by paper form, phone or email? Contact us before submitting it again online to avoid a duplicate. Do not assume an earlier request or recurring transfer has been canceled.
Once your online access is set up and your accounts are connected:
-
Sign in and select Move Money, then Transfer between your accounts.
-
Choose the sending and receiving accounts. For an account you own at another financial institution, complete the external-account linking and verification process first.
-
Enter the amount and date, review the details and confirm.
-
Check the transfer status under Transactions. A scheduled transfer has not necessarily been delivered.
Our one-page guide walks you through first-time setup and making a transfer.
For help, please call 877-992-8663. If you need next-day delivery, want to send money to another person or need to make a loan payment, contact us for the appropriate instructions.
What is happening on November 16?
American United and First Californian will introduce one shared public name on November 16, 2026. That name change is separate from the G&R merger October 1 effective date. No action is needed because of the name change.
